If you are looking to invest in real estate, it turns out that Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary are three of the top cities in the world to invest in. A study conducted by the Grosvernor Group analyzing the long term market conditions of 50 cities put Vancouver close to the top for investing. Now, this doesn’t mean that you can buy a house and sell it at a huge profit in a year! It simply means that if you are in it for the long-haul, your investment will pay off. It seems that our market has ““environmental and social vulnerability and adaptive capacity”, which makes it an ideal place to invest. So, have you ever considered it? Do you have questions about how it would affect you? Are you ready to purchase a second property or even your first? Feel free to give me a call of send me an email and I would be more than happy to discuss this with you.

It’s finally sunny and warm outside (most of the time) and you are having a look at your yard. Is it welcoming? Is it a place you want to spend time in? I find that it is a place that is often neglected in a home. It’s already expensive to furnish the inside of a house, how do you spruce up the outside so that it is a retreat for you and your family? Here are some tips on how to easily (and cheaply) decorate your outdoor space:
  1. Recycle materials – if you or someone you know is handy, recycle materials such as pallets to turn into benches and tables.
  2. Grow plants from cuttings – instead of purchasing new plants, grab a bottle of rooting hormone and try your hand and rooting your own plants.
  3. Go to craigslist – this is always a great place to find great items at a discounted price.
  4. Be colourful – choose bright colours for cushions and painted surfaces. This will make your space seem eclectic and fun, which in turn will make it inviting.
